Philadelphia

Immerse yourself in a vibrant acrylic painting that captures the dynamic spirit of 21st and Chestnut Street in Philadelphia, PA. This contemporary artwork bursts with color and energy, reflecting the lively atmosphere of the bustling city. Vivid hues dance across the canvas, depicting the flow of cars zipping by, their headlights glinting in the sunlight, while cyclists gracefully weave through the scene, embodying the pulse of urban life. The textured brushstrokes create a sense of movement, inviting viewers to feel the rhythm of the city as if they were part of the lively street scene. This painting is not just a representation of a location; it’s a celebration of the vibrant community and the everyday moments that define life in Philadelphia.

This painting is just one of 10 or so paintings I created with Philadelphia as the subject. Those of you familiar with the area will recognize names of places such as the Tacony Palmyra and the Ben Franklin Bridges, Pine Street and Liberty Place, to name a few.

Philadelphia is a special place where I was born and where I’ve spent much time roaming the streets, visiting the famous Philadelphia Art Museum and taking art classes at the Philadelphia College of Art.

The city is packed with historic sites and interesting architecture. Places like Independence Hall (where the Declaration of Independence was signed), the ornate Second Empire style City Hall, and Rittenhouse Square are just some of the places I have enjoyed over the years and enjoyed recreating on canvas.
